FASHIONABLY FRUGAL: WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING
Just to set things straight I am not getting married! But my best friend of 18 years is! I remember as 6 year olds cutting out pics from mum’s Vogue of our ideal wedding dresses and grooms! Well my Bestie’s big day is fast approaching and as a student saving for her (and her future husband’s) first home money is tight. Like most brides B wants things things to be perfect and her wedding dress is no exception BUT $4,000 for a dream dress sadly isn’t feasible. After a chat with our recently newlywed friend we decided to search for cheap wedding dresses online. Ebay was the first place we searched, but I guess a lot of other soon to be brides had the same idea as bidding got pretty intense and she keep getting out bid. That’s when we decided to search online and discovered that some online stores have gorgeous wedding dresses for under $200 and with a bit of altering the these dresses are a budget friendly way of finding the perfect dress. Here are the two she is tossing up between, both astonishingly under $150!
Do you have any budget friendly Wedding tips? I’d love to hear them! Becky xo
Great post! I remember i got my wedding dress in a shop that had a huge catalogue, so it wasn’t expensive at all. They had a good selection spread and i really liked my choices xoxo #GIG
I rented mine! Because I thought Im not gonna wear it again so why spend so much lol. It’s just my preference ‘tho.
Never thought about doing this, but I think it’s a great idea!
I too collect photos of my dream wedding dress, however there are times that I realized that I’m sure will end mixing the designs or not having one from them at all. I believe it’s not about the dress that matters most in a wedding, it’s the moment of love
Excellent point
I have some people in my life that might benefit from this post. I’ve been married for 8 years lol the dresses were beautiful. Ill be sure to follow you. #GIG

Wow, those gown are really great
The left is cute and sweet, the right looks so elegant and sexy
wow,the dress is so cheap! :O but i’d recommend the 2nd dress to your friend since it has alot more detailing than the 1st one. #GIG
Thanks I prefer the second one too
If I were to choose, I’d go for the 2nd picture (to the right). I wish I could participate in this conversation too. haha I always fancied about wedding gowns, I think I told you already. It’s such a great news that your bestie is getting married. Are you going to be her maid of honor? xoxo
I like the second one best too So excited for her!
Her sister is the Maid of Honour but I’m a bridesmaid and got to design the wedding invites:)
I’d post them but they I don’t think she’ll want her details all over the internet! haha

The dresses are beautiful. Be sure to splurge on the most important parts of the wedding. Your friend can go low budget on the rest and still feel like she has the special touches for her big day.
I Think the choice would be a question of which flatters her figure more? For example, I do like the 2nd one better but I can’t pull it off. If she can pull it off well, 2nd one all the way!

Hi Becky first of all thank for passing by my blog. Now I got married almost 2 years ago and yes it takes lots of money!!! I made a lot of things myself whit my hubby and my family, like the wedding invitations, the souvenirs, the table numbers, the favors, I mean a lot!!! I got a bunch of ideas from the Martha Stweart wedding page, and a lot has printables too. Hope this be helpful

I am happily married but didn’t wear a pretty long white wedding gown on my wedding day! It was a civil wedding, and both me and my husband was wearing white longsleeves and a ripped denim pants. LOL! We both changed to a coat & tie and a long red chiffon dress for the reception though! GOOD TIMES!! x Love, Cynthia
wow, this reminds me of how much i love browsing though wedding dresses! D: #gig
difficult decision to make!
Thanks.

hmm.. DIY some decors for weddings or the invitation for sure it will save a lot.. hehe
I´d personally go for the second dress, as it´s smoother in the chest area. Classic and elegant.
well congrats to your best friend! when i bought my wedding dress i knew i didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it since i was only going to wear it once!
My friend too got her wedding dress in online stores. Some sell designer pieces for around $200, which is not bad
i love dress one…the flower is so lovely!
