What you will need:
4 Â large apples of your choice, I used Pink Lady
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup apple sauce
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
What to do:
Preheat your oven to moderate. Cut the top off each of your apples and scoop out the core and majority of the flesh leaving a shell about 1 cm thick. In a large bowl sift in your flour and add the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Gently rub in the butter until crumbs form then add the apple sauce. Scoop your crumb mixture into each of the apples. Replace the top and cover in foil. Bake in a moderate oven for about 30 minutes or until the apple flesh is tender. Dust with icing sugar and serve with a generous blob of fresh cream. Enjoy. Serves 4.
