GARLIC AND LEMON SPAGHETTI

This pasta dish is so easy to make and the light and zesty garlic and lemon sauce is a great alternative to heavy cream and tomato based sauces. Perhaps best off all this dish tastes great and can feed 4 people for less than $7.00!

What you will need:
500 grams of thin spaghetti
1 cup of cherry tomatoes, sliced in halves
2 tablespoons of italian parsley chopped finely
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 olive oil
3 cloves of garlic mincedWhat to do:
Boil your pasta in a large pot of salted water and cook until al dente. Once done strain your pasta well. Pour in the olive oil and garlic and toss until the spaghetti is well coated. Add the chopped parsley, lemon juice and tomatoes and continue to toss. Serve with an extra sprig of parsley and some grated parmesan.
Serves 4.

DIY TEETH WHITENING AT HOME

I make this tooth whitening paste once a week and despite my coffee addiction my teeth are always white. My Grandmother taught me this trick when I was about 12 and I have been doing it ever since. After a quick Google search I found conflicting accounts as to whether this method of teeth whitening is in fact safe and “good” for your teeth. So it’s up to you if you want to try it or not. I suggest considering the health of your teeth and how sensitive they are before trying this out just to be safe.

What to do:

Brush your teeth well, floss and rinse as usual before attempting to whiten. Once your teeth have been cleaned make a thick paste containing Bi-carb soda, toothpaste and a few drops of water. Using a cotton tip apply the paste to your teeth, paying attention to where they join the gums as this is generally where most discolouration occurs. Leave the paste on your teeth for about 5 minutes. I usually lay down when doing this to avoid swallowing any of the paste. Once the time has past, using your toothbrush brush your teeth in small circular motions using the paste and a bit or extra toothpaste if required. Rinse your mouth really well afterwards insuring you remove all the paste from your gums, teeth and the sides of your mouth. The bi-carb tends to dry out your mouth a bit so I usually follow up with a big glass of water with lemon.
