Homemade Oreo Cookies

What you will need:

You will need an Oreo Mold. They have a heap of Etsy here for under $5.00

The Biscuits

2 Cups Flour, sifted
1/2 cup cocoa powder, sifted
1/4 cup cornstarch, sifted
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1/3 cup water
1 teaspoon black food dye
1 tsp vanilla extract

The Filling

1/2 cup margarine room temperature
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups icing sugar

What to do:

Make the Biscuits…
Grease and line a biscuit tray and pre heat the oven to moderate.
Cream together the margarine and sugar, mix until light and fluffy.
Add in the water , food dye and vanilla.
Gradually add the sifted flour and corn starch as well as the salt and cocoa powder.
Knead lightly until a dough forms.
Roll the dough out to it’s about 8mm thick.
Using the cookie cutter  cut the dough into shape. and place on the lined baking tray.
Cook for about 15 minutes.
While the biscuits are cooling get started on the filling.
Using an electric mixer beat the butter and vanilla until it becomes pale and fluffy.
Gradually sift in the icing sugar.
Piece together your cookies…
Spoon the filling in between 2 of the cooled cookies and serve with a glass of milk.

    Which size Oreo mold did you buy to make yours?

      Hi,
      I used the 29mm Sized mold. Hope that helps :)
